Social Responsibility
In 2008, Bancpost proved once again its in-depth involvement in the community life, by financially supporting a number of social interest domains, such as education and professional training, culture, environment, local communities.
Youth-oriented projects have always been present on the Bancpost agenda. The Bank supported in 2008 various cultural and educational projects on leadership and economics topics addressed to students, organised by the “Leaders Romania” and “Econosophia” Associations.
The Bank has also sponsored the participation of the “BimBam” Children Association choir to a very important national contest, which is organized every year in one of the Romanian Black Sea resorts.
Understanding the importance of young people awareness to the severe consequences that drug use have over their health and future, Bancpost joined forces with the National Anti-drugs Agency and the “Totul pentru viata” (“All for life”) Association in this important educational project, as the main sponsor of the Awarding Ceremony for the winners of the National Competition “My anti-drugs message” addressed to young people.
At the same time, Bancpost contributed to the acquisition of medical equipment for Galati Hospital for Children, joining the authorities’ efforts to ensure a quality medical act and allow children with various health problems to receive the best care possible.
The Bank also sponsored a cultural and educational event organized by the “Friends of the National Museum of Art” Association, which included exhibitions and charitable projects performed by young artists. Furthermore in the cultural area, Bancpost sustained the “National Festival of Contemporary Dramaturgy” organised by the "Sica Alexandrescu" Theatre from Brasov, which enjoyed a large audience.
The Bank involved itself, along with many charitable organizations, in various social projects meant to improve the life of the most disadvantaged social categories. Among these projects worth mentioning are the setting-up and management of several specialized centers offering medical, social, educational, vocational or family assistance.
Environmental protection has always represented a special concern for Bancpost, which, continuing a meaningful tradition, financially supported local authorities in organising the festivities dedicated to the Cities they govern, during which the people had the opportunity to take part in many outdoor activities and to learn how to better protect the environment.
A special attention was also paid to the programs organized by the local communities, city halls, sport associations and humanitarian foundations, meant to reaffirm the trustworthy partner vocation of Bancpost, a partner who is committed to improving the life of communities, lending a helping hand when needed.
