Q. What is Internet Banking?

A: Internet Banking is a remote accessed payment instrument based on the Internet technology (World Wide Web) and on the issuer’s IT systems.
 
Q: What is a ‘remote accessed payment instrument’?
A: A remote accessed payment instrument is the instrument enabling its holder to access funds held on his/her account, whereby the holder can perform payments to a payee or other type of fund transfer operations, usually requiring a user name and a personal identification code/ password and/or any other similar proof of identity. In addition to the fund transfer operations, the holder may also perform currency exchange operations, it may set up deposits and obtain information regarding the situation of its accounts and the operations performed. All of the transactions are received by the bank in a communications server and processed through its own technology for verifying the authenticity of the payment message, prior to being sent in its IT system.

Q: What is Fastbanking?
A: Fastbanking, Internet Banking from Bancpost, is a state-of-the-art competitive product offering natural persons and legal entities the possibility to perform various banking operations using a computer connected to the Internet, regardless of its location, and an authentication device (Digipass 300). Access to such service is ensured throughout the year, 24 hours a day.

Q: What operations can I perform via Fastbanking?

A: Using Fastbanking, the customers may perform the following operations:

  • payment orders in RON to natural person and legal entity payees;
  • treasury payment orders;
  • global payment orders used for the payment of salaries to employees 
  • intra-banking transfers between the customer’s accounts 
  • domestic or foreign currency payments;

Range of services offered by the Fastbanking application:

  • viewing at any time the balances of the accounts opened with Bancpost;
  • information regarding various exchange rates and interest rates charged by the bank;
  • the possibility to view and print statements of account;
  • defining payees directly by the customer;
  • creating payment order templates 
  • the possibility to import payment orders created in other applications;


Q: How can I become a Fastbanking customer?
A: If you are already a Bancpost customer, go to the unit where you opened your current account, present your identity document and the Agreement filled in with your data.
You can find the Agreement at any unit of the bank or on Bancpost’s website.
If you are not a Bancpost customer, go to any unit between 9:00 and 17:00 hours, open a current account, present your identity document and the Agreement filled in with your data.

Q: What are the costs for using Fastbanking?
A: The cost of the monthly subscription charged is:
The monthly subscription is FREE OF CHARGE witihin packages and 2,5 Ron as standard.

For each challenge Digipass token issued, an initial guarantee of USD 30 is required, which shall be returned to the customer upon the expiry of the contractual period.


For any of the methods: “VIP mobile” and “SMS”, the utilization cost charged by the bank is ZERO (free of charge).

The fees charged for payment orders in RON performed via Fastbanking® are lower by 40% by reference to those charged for operations performed at the counter.

Q: How secure is using the Fastbanking application?

A: In order to ensure a high level of security, this service was developed on an infrastructure observing the international information security standards.
The confidentiality of the data is ensured through a username and password, as well as by using the Digipass device.
As of the connection of an authorized customer, any data exchange is performed under SSL3 (Secure Sockets Layer 3.0) secured protocol, which uses an encryption key of at least 128 bits (currently the strongest on the market) – and a DES (Data Encryption Standard) algorithm. In addition, the website of this service is secured and guaranteed by Thawte, so that the customer may easily recognize and verify its authenticity.

Q: What are the technical requirements for accessing the Fastbanking application?
A: For the service to be operational you need:

  • A computer with access to the Internet
  • Any of the following browsers: Internet Explorer version 5.5 or newer, Mozilla 1.7.12 and Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or newer, Opera 8.0 or newer, Netscape 8.0 or newer, that allows for an encrypted connection with minimum 128 bits key length.

Q: How do I access the Fastbanking application?
A: The Fastbanking application may be accessed:

After accessing the address, the user has to authenticate, through the procedure related to the requested authentication method, i.e. to enter in the relevant dialog box the username and password with which it is registered in the system and which were assigned to him/her by the bank. The name and password can be found in the “Information necessary for using the Internet Banking service” form, received from the bank together with the authentication token device (challenge token/VIP token), as the case may be. 

Q: How do I authenticate to the Fastbanking application?
A: The authentication to the Fastbanking application can be performed by one or several methods:

a) The “challenge token” method
Upon first utilization, the Digipass device – challenge token – shall be locked for reasons of security.
To unlock it, the customer shall start the device by pressing the triangle key (◄)
To activate it, the customer shall contact the Fastbanking Helpdesk service, at the telephone number 021/308.54.60.
To use Fastbanking, the customer needs the “challenge token” device issued by the bank and a computer (PC, laptop etc) connected to the Internet.

When using the Fastbanking application, in the case of authentication through the “challenge token” method, the customer shall check such option from among those displayed.


b) The “VIP mobile” method; VIP=Verisign Identity Protection
This authentication method is adaptable for the mobile phones that support Java/Javascript and have access to the Internet.

After accessing the Fastbanking application, the customer shall enter its username and password (received from the bank upon acquisition, the initial password which it may subsequently change). By accessing the software application previously installed on the mobile phone (on the www.verisign.com website, by accessing the “VIP access for mobile” section, the customer shall opt for downloading the application, by choosing the type of mobile phone it possesses and on which it wishes to install such application and by entering the telephone number in the appropriate dialog box; subsequently, the customer shall receive an SMS containing the link where it shall download the application, directly on the mobile phone; thus, the first time the software application is accessed on the mobile phone, such application shall be activated, after which the customer may view the unique ID of the authentication software, which shall be communicated to the bank for the registration in the system), the customer may perform the authentication.

To render more efficient the registration process in Fastbanking using this authentication method, it is recommended that the customers install the software application on their mobile phone prior to going to the bank unit.

When using the Fastbanking application, in the case of authentication through the “VIP mobile”, method, the customer shall check such option from among those displayed.


c) The “SMS” method
This authentication method is adaptable for any mobile phone having the capacity to receive SMS.

By pressing the “Send SMS” button on the authentication page, the customer shall receive a text message on the registered mobile phone, containing the authentication code to be entered in the appropriate dialog box; after entering such code, the authentication is performed by pressing the “Send” button.

When using the Fastbanking application, in the case of authentication through the “SMS”, method, the customer shall check such option from among those displayed.


Q: What is the “challenge token” Digipass device?

A: The challenge token is a highly secure hardware device used for authentication to the Fastbanking application. The security of the transactions is ensured both by the device’s PIN code and by the dynamic password, randomly generated at each use.
The “challenge token” device is offered by the bank to all of its customers benefiting from the Fastbanking service.


I: How do I unlock the “challenge token” Digipass device?
R: Starting up the authentication device is performed by pressing the key depicting a triangle (◄).
At the first utilization, for security reasons, the device shall be locked. To activate it, the customer shall contact the Fastbanking Helpdesk service, at the telephone number 021/308.54.60.


Q: How do I change the PIN code of the “challenge token” Digipass device?
A: To subsequently change the PIN code, after entering the current PIN code, press and hold the triangle key for more than two (2) seconds; then introduce the new PIN after the message “NEW PIN” is displayed, and after the message “PIN CONF” is displayed, re-enter the new PIN. 
To shut down the device, press the triangle key (◄) consecutively.

Q: I lost my “challenge token” Digipass device, what do I do?
A: In case of loss, theft or blocking of the authentication device, the customer has to notify the bank at the following telephone number:
 +40 21 308 54 60

Q: I forgot my password, what do I do?
A: If it forgot the password, the customer has to call the telephone numbers:
         +40 21 308 54 60
After an authentication using the “challenge token” or “VIP token” device and the verification of the personal data, the password is reset and the initial password provided by the bank is restored (it is a temporary password which has to be changed at the first utilization of the application).


Q: I have difficulties in using the Fastbanking application, who shall provide support?

Q: What is the payment order processing schedule?

  • intra-banking payments introduced in the system before 17:00 hours shall be processed on the same accounting day
  • high value inter-banking payments introduced in the system before 17:00 hours, shall be processed on the same accounting day
  • low value inter-banking payments introduced in the system before 17:00, shall be processed on the same accounting day;

All of the payments introduced after 17:00 hour, shall be processed on the following banking day.

Q: How is the Fastbanking application structured?
A: In order to ensure fast and easy access, the application was structured on the following functional modules:

  • main page – general information
  • accounts module – includes the activities related to balances, statements of account, transactions on various types of accounts
  • operations module – includes the operations that may be initiated by a user in the application, grouped by types (RON or foreign currency payment orders, transfers between the customer’s own current accounts).
  • settings module – allows the modification of the access password, the personalization of the main page, the modification of the customer’s security parameters.

Q: How do I view the balance of my accounts?
A: In order to view the balance, you have to take the following steps:

  • access the page https://fastbanking.bancpost.ro;
  • enter the username and password;
  • choose the customer and the language in which the application’s labels and messages shall be displayed;
  • access the accounts menu;
  • select “View balance”;
  • perform authentication through the authentication method
  • select the account for which you wish to have the balance displayed.

Q: How do I view a statement of account?
A: In order to view a statement of account, you have to take the following steps:

  • access the page https://fastbanking.bancpost.ro;
  • enter the username and password;
  • choose the customer and the language in which the application’s labels and messages shall be displayed;
  • access the accounts menu;
  • select “View statement of account”;
  • select the account for which you wish to have the statement of account displayed.

Q: How do I view the transactions performed on the current day?
A: Fastbanking offers you the possibility to view all of the transactions performed on the current day, regardless of whether they were performed at the counter or through Internet Banking:

  • access the page https://fastbanking.bancpost.ro;
  • enter the username and password;
  • choose the customer and the language in which the application’s labels and messages shall be displayed;
  • access the accounts menu;
  • select “Today’s transactions”;
  • select the account for which you wish to display the statement of account.

Q: How do I define the payee?
A: The Fastbanking users may manage the payee database themselves.
To create a new payee, you have to take the following steps:

  • access the page https://fastbanking.bancpost.ro;
  • enter the username and password;
  • choose the customer and the language in which the application’s labels and messages shall be displayed;
  • access the operations menu;
  • select the payment orders submenu, option “create new payee”;
  • after filling in all of the mandatory fields, press save button.


Q: How do I prepare a payment order?

A: To initiate and approve a new payment order, you have to take the following steps:

  • access the page https://fastbanking.bancpost.ro;
  • enter the username and password;
  • choose the customer and the language in which the application’s labels and messages shall be displayed;
  • access the operations menu;
  • select the payment orders submenu, option “new payment order”;

step 1: select the type of order, settlement or treasury;
step 2: select the payee
step 3: select the payer account
step 4: fill in the number of the order, the amount and details of the payment. Depending on the user’s rights, the payment order shall be approved or saved.
In order to be processed, the payment order, previously saved, has to be approved by a user having approval rights.
The approval shall be performed in the menu operations/payment orders/ approve/reject payments. 

Q: How do I perform a transfer between my own current accounts?

  • access the page https://fastbanking.bancpost.ro;
  • enter the username and password;
  • choose the customer and the language in which the application’s labels and messages shall be displayed;
  • access the operations menu;
  • select transfer submenu, option “transfer between your own accounts”;

step 1: select the source account;
step 2: select the destination account;
step 3: fill in the transferred amount.


Q: When can a payment order be printed?
A: The payment orders performed via Fastbanking can be printed only as of the moment when they are “Approved by the bank”.

Q: How can I change the password required to access the application?
A: The password can be changed in the “Settings” module, “Password Settings” menu, “Change Password” submenu.

 

Q:  What happens if I enter the wrong password multiple times?

A: If the password is entered incorrectly more than 5 consecutive times, for security reasons, the Fastbanking application will be temporarily blocked. To unblock the Fastbanking application, call: +40 21308 54 60. Bancpost operators will never communicate your new password, but will reset the password to the initial value you find in the form you received from the bank "Information Required for Using the Internet Banking Service" 

Important! It is very important to keep the initial password received from the bank at the signing of the contract, because the resetting of the telephone password will be possible only at the first. If you do not have an initial password pack, you need to request a new password in any Bancpost drive.
